5 Ramadan beauty tips to keep your skin glowing

Hey there beauty addicts!

As it’s time for the holy month of Ramadan, it’s also the time to have the proper skincare routine to help you look and feel your best. During this month our normal routine changes, so our skin tends to get dehydrated due to the fasting, the irregular sleep and also the eating habits.

So in order to keep your skin glowing all day and all night, here are 5 Ramadan beauty tips.

1. Hydrate with water

The #skinfluencers all agree: it’s very important to drink water and hydrate your body. There’s no way around it, glowing skin is hydrated skin. But hydration does not include drinking fizzy drinks and coffee! Better stick with natural carbonated or mineral water. The trick to drinking more? Try having water infused with fresh fruits. Prepare ahead of time your mix and store it in the fridge for an instant flush of vitamins to boost your system. We like having water infused with mint, cucumber, ginger, red berries and also pineapple

2. Glow from the inside out

Antioxidants are the secret to glowing skin, especially when you’re fasting. Include more super-foods in your diet like berries, almonds, dark chocolate and pomegranates. Not only are they rich in fiber, they are a great source of vitamins and minerals your skin needs after a day of fasting. And as for sugar and artificial sweeteners, avoid them like the plague! Ok, let’s be realistic. You might indulge in a few Ramadan delicacies, but remember that sugar is known to cause premature aging by breaking down collagen.

3. Avoid the sun

When your body is already tired from lack of sleep and a change in your diet, the sun can add stress to your already stressed skin. To avoid an overload of dehydration, better avoid the sun and protect yourself when you’re outside by wearing sunscreen. Your sunscreen should be at least SPF30 and you should reapply it every 2 hours.

4. Regulate your beauty sleep

During Ramadan your sleeping pattern will probably be disrupted. As you know, your body needs around 8 hours of sleep to repair our skin and muscle tissue otherwise you look and feel tired. So even if it’s for 15 minutes, schedule a few minutes of rest or go for a lie-down. Your skin will thank you for it by glowing!
